We're taking a break!

Hey Everyone & Namaste,

As you may have seen we've slowed down activity here on the blog site and well, slowed down entirely. Classes at the studio were great, but we sure missed our outside practice. We took measures to reorganize the club, but then realized there was a lot more work we wanted to do to bring the club back to its original glory... well, yada yada yada... long story short, we're taking a break. We still hope to continue the yoga club in the future, but for now we're focusing on all the things goig on at the studio.

If you're looking for a class to replace your Wednesday evening practice, come on by the studio same time, same place for our Kapha+Vata sessions. Amanda Buchanan, experienced yoga teacher and Reiki Master, leads a restorative flow that combines the elements of water with wind to create a relaxing yet versatile practice. Or check out the full schedule to find another practice that suits your needs.

And remember all KYYC members receive 10% off classes and packages!

Looking forward to practicing together~

Shanti,
Leah

Last Meeting of 2007!

Greetings and Namaste!!!

This week, I am very happy to say that we will be guided through a
wonderfully restorative practice by Kali Yuga's very own Leah Lillios.
This will also be our last yoga club class of the year; club classes will
resume on Wednesday January 9th. On Wednesday January 16th, I will be
hosting a New Years gathering for the yoga club...more details soon.

In the spirit of giving all of the proceeds collected at yoga club this
week will be donated to The Fannie Battle Day Home for Children. Any
donation amount that you would like to give is greatly appreciated and
will go to a wonderful local organization.

The Fannie Battle Day Home for Children is located in East Nashville right
around the corner from the studio on 10th and Shelby.

The Fannie Battle Day Home for Children exists to continue the mission set
forth by Fannie Battle in 1891. We endeavor to provide an invaluable
service to children of low-income, single-parent families that are working
or furthering their education in order to maintain their independence. Our
mission is: To provide quality daycare that encourages the intellectual,
physical, emotional, and social development of each child in a safe and
happy environment.

For additional information about this wonderful organization please visit
their website at: fanniebattle.org

fabulous New Year. 2007 has been a wonderful year and I am truly thankful
to you all for making the Kali Yuga Yoga Club a major success. Also, I

***Amy Martin***
I fell in love with hot yoga in 2003 after a challenging year brought me to a professional and personal stand still. With great friends and their encouragement I tried yoga for the first time truly out of desperation and a need for a change in my life. It was life altering! I understood how the yoga changed and would continue to change me after only one 90 minute class. I immersed myself in my practice, learning all I could through individual study and class attendance. After only 7 months of practice I find myself drawn to attend Jimmy Barkan Yoga College in Fort Lauderdale, Fl in April 2004, completing my 200 hour Hatha Yoga training in May. I immediately came back to Nashville and began my teaching career. After 3 1/2 years I am still drawn to teach and practice; for me it is a passion, a need, and a way of life. I have seen how it changes lives, bodies, and minds (especially my own) and want to share this yoga with as many people as I can, wherever I find my self.

***Power Yoga Class***
Power Yoga is a powerful blend of long holds and a vinyasa flow. The
longer holds train the mind and muscles as the flow warms the body through movement and grace. The combination is both strong and smooth, allowing all levels to access the entire body with simply challenging moves. Truly meditation in motion at it's core.
