Stephen moved to Nashville with his wife Bethany after a career as an aviation officer in the US Army. During his time in the military he tried Yoga as a way to reconnect with his body and emotions after exposure to several combat situations. He quickly realized the benefits yoga gave his life, and wanted to share the gift with others. He pursued teacher training through the Yoga School in Nashville studying the style of BKS Iyengar. Stephen has attended workshops with Roger Cole and studied under a number of excellent teachers and mentors to include Nancy Kirkland, Zo Newell, and Sanieh Patricia. Stephen is excited to share the gift of Yoga with the community in hopes that we may all find peace and happiness along our paths in life.

Welcome our Guest Instructor Katie Noss!

Greetings and Namaste!!

I hope that you are all having a fabulous week thus far! One way to add a much needed spark to your week and to jump start you weekend is by joining us for a wonderful yoga practice. Kaliyugayoga Club would like to welcome a very special guest instructor to guide us for this weeks practice.

*Yoga Club Welcomes Guest Instructor Katie Noss on Wed, September 26*
Katie Noss began her study of Yoga over 5 years ago, shortly after the
birth of her twin daughters. Through early instruction from DVDs and the local YMCA, Katie began to realize there is more to Yoga than the physical asanas. Intrigued by the long and vast philosophy of this ancient art and realizing the inner awareness her practice was fostering, Katie was inspired to pursue a teacher training program through the Yoga School at the Yoga Room in Nashville, where she has been training with an emphasis in the Iyengar tradition and restorative poses. She will be certified and registered with the Yoga Alliance in October of 2007. Katie looks forward to sharing the benefits of yoga with the community.

Hope to see you all at practice!!

RESTORATIVE YOGA at Kali Yuga Yoga- 8/18!!

KALI YUGA YOGA invites you to attend…

***SWEET MOLASSES WORKSHOP****
Saturday, August 18, 2007 - 3 to 5 PM
A blissful combination of Hatha/Slow Vinyasa and RESTORATIVE Yoga
2 hour workshop- ONLY $30

With NYC certified Colleen Dwyer, RYT

The workshop begins with a short meditation, then eases into exploring
traditional asanas (postures), with focus on breathing, mindfulness, and
alignment. We will then transition into Restorative Yoga: using props,
we will relax into postures for prolonged periods of time. The stillness
allows your body to rejuvenate, your nervous system to calm, and your
whole being to feel the peace which is your natural state. The approach
is gentle to all postures, even the challenging ones. Essential oils will
be used to enhance the setting and mood. Hands-on adjustments along with
gentle massage add a personal touch. Pranayama (breath control exercises)
will be integrated throughout the workshop.
